Show Info

Zog and the Flying Doctors brings Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's popular picture book back to the stage for a UK and Ireland tour in 2027. After earning his gold star at dragon school, Zog joins Princess Pearl and Sir Gadabout on a new adventure. Together they fly around helping creatures in need, including a unicorn with one too many horns, a wheezy lion and a sunburnt mermaid.

The story takes a turn when the King questions whether a princess can really be a doctor. When he becomes ill himself, Pearl may be the only person who can cure him. The stage production combines puppetry and playful storytelling with original songs by Joe Stilgoe, creating a lively family show filled with music and humour.

Presented by Freckle Productions in association with Rose Theatre, the show is based on the bestselling book first published in 2016. Zog and the Flying Doctors is the sequel to Zog, another popular Donaldson and Scheffler story. It was also adapted for television as an animated BBC One Christmas special in 2020. Following an earlier stage tour in 2024, Zog, Pearl and Sir Gadabout return in 2027 for another adventure across the UK and Ireland.
