The Woman in Black
The Woman in Black tells of solicitor Arthur Kipps, who visits a remote house to settle an estate and uncovers a haunting presence that refuses to rest. The touring version preserves the story’s intimate staging, using sound, light andimagination to summon fear and suspense through suggestion rather than spectacle.

First staged in 1987, Stephen Mallatratt’s adaptation of Susan Hill’s 1983 novel has become one of British theatre’s longest running hits. Its simple structure with two actors and minimal props creates atmosphere through storytelling and shadow, letting the audience’s imagination supply the terror. The West End production ran for over 30 years, earning praise for its precision and restraint.
