Show Info

The Gruffalo first appeared on stage in 2001, following the success of the book published in 1999. Tall Stories have made the tale their own with a style that mixes storytelling, physical theatre and music. The story follows Mouse as he travels through the deep dark wood, meeting Fox, Owl and Snake before facing the Gruffalo itself. Its familiar theme of a small character using wit and courage has helped the show reach millions of children in the UK and around the world.

Over its long life the production has toured to many countries and has been translated into several languages, while keeping its simple mix of fun, songs and gentle suspense. Tall Stories have continued to refresh the staging over the years, guided by director Olivia Jacobs.
