Written by Academy Award winner Simon Beaufoy, The Full Monty first became a global success as a British film in 1997. Its story of unemployed steelworkers in Sheffield struck a chord for its humour, heart and unflinching look at working class life. Beaufoy later adapted the screenplay into a stage play, allowing the characters and their relationships to take centre stage in a new way.
This 30th anniversary touring production is directed by Michael Gyngell, with choreography and intimacy direction by Ian West. Design comes from Jasmine Swann, with lighting by Andrew Exeter and sound by Chris Whybrow. As the men rehearse for their big night, audiences are taken on a lively journey that celebrates courage, friendship and the power of showing up, exactly as you are.
