Adapted by Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon’s best-selling 2003 novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time first premiered at the National Theatre in 2012. The production won multiple Olivier and Tony Awards for its innovative design and sensitive portrayal of a young man who sees patterns and logic where others see confusion. Its use of projection, choreography, and layered sound has influenced a generation of theatre makers.
The play follows fifteen-year-old Christopher as he investigates a mystery that leads him beyond his familiar routines into a wider, uncertain world.
