Adapted for the stage by Nesrin Alrefaai and Matthew Spangler, The Beekeeper of Aleppo is based on one of the most widely read novels of recent years. The book was a major international success, earning literary awards and widespread praise for its humane and personal portrayal of the refugee experience.
Premiering at Nottingham Playhouse in 2023, this stage version builds on that impact, translating the story into a powerful piece of contemporary theatre. At its core, The Beekeeper of Aleppo is a story about connection, between partners, families and strangers.
