Spitfire Girls
Spitfire Girls tells the story of two women who once answered the call to fly during wartime and meet again years later on a rain soaked New Year’s Eve. As their memories unfold, the play moves between post war Britain and the skies of the 1940s, revealing the bond that formed when they dared to take on roles denied to them by convention.

Spitfire Girls is written by Katherine Senior and inspired by the extraordinary true stories of women who flew military aircraft during the Second World War. Set partly in 1959 and partly during the war years, the play reflects on memory, survival, and the friendships forged under pressure.
The production first premiered in Southampton in 2025 before touring the UK, where it was met with strong audience response and praise for its emotional clarity and storytelling. The 2026 tour marks the 80th anniversary year of the end of World War II.
