NERO will premiere at Southwark Playhouse Elephant, starring Broadway favourite Andrew Barth Feldman in his London stage debut. Best known for Dear Evan Hansen and the film No Hard Feelings, Feldman takes on the title role in the new musical from Spring Awakening creators Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, with direction by Lindsay Posner.
Rather than telling the story of the ruler history remembers, NERO explores the young man before he became emperor.
The musical follows a reluctant heir whose passion for art and performance collides with power, family conflict and political ambition, leading to the rise of one of history's most infamous figures.
