High Society features music and lyrics by Cole Porter, with a book by Arthur Kopit, and is based on Philip Barry’s play The Philadelphia Story. The story follows a wealthy family preparing for a high profile wedding that becomes complicated by unexpected guests and unresolved feelings. Porter’s score brings elegance and wit to the characters’ tangled relationships, balancing sharp comedy with moments of genuine tenderness.
The musical is best known for its long life on stage and screen, including the famous film adaptation starring Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby, and Frank Sinatra.
This new touring production follows a successful limited season in London before heading out across the UK and Ireland. It is led by Helen George as Tracy Samantha Lord, with Felicity Kendal appearing during the London run.
