Tamzin Outhwaite will star as Beverly in Abigail’s Party as the classic returns on a UK tour from June 2026. Abigail’s Party was written by Mike Leigh and first staged in 1977, developed through extended improvisation with its original cast. The play quickly became a cultural landmark, later reaching a wider audience through its celebrated BBC Play for Today television version, which helped cement its status as a modern classic.
The story is a razor sharp portrait of class, aspiration and politics in 1970s England. . everly, famously played by Alison Steadman in a career defining role, remains one of British theatre’s most memorable characters.
This new touring revival stars Tamzin Outhwaite as Beverly and is directed by Nadia Fall, following a highly praised and sold out run in London. Touring the UK from June 2026, Abigail’s Party continues to resonate with its precise observation of social behaviour.
